Temari Sushi of marinaded Tuna with Sesame oil

Ingredients (for 2 servings)
  • Rice

    180ml (grain)

  • Kelp sheet

    1 (5cm square)

  • Tuna (Sashimi grade)

    200g

  • Roasted White Sesame Seeds

    Appropriate amount

  • 【A】Kadoya roasted sesame oil

    1 tablespoon

  • 【A】Soy sauce

    1/2 tablespoon

  • 【B】Vinegar

    2 tablespoons

  • 【B】Sugar

    1 tablespoon

  • 【B】Salt

    1/2 teaspoon

Directions
  • Make sushi vinegar. Put 【B】 in a heatproof container and microwave (600W) for 30-40 seconds until sugar is dissolved.

  • Cook rice with 180 ml water (less water than usual) and kelp, pour sushi vinegar(1) over cooked rice and mix.

  • Put the tuna in a flat container such as a bat and pour the mixture of 【A】 over the tuna and dress.

  • Make (2) into bite-sized balls. Place tuna and sushi rice on plastic wrap and squeeze tightly to form a round shape. Place on a plate and sprinkle with roasted white sesame seeds if desired.

“Temari” means a traditional Japanese handball.

Therefore we call the small ball-shaped sushi “Temari sushi”.
