Sesame oil chicken
Ingredients (for 4 servings)

Boneless, skinless chicken leg, cut into pieces

Thumb ginger, peeled & julienned

Cloves garlic, smashed

Kadoya roasted sesame oil
3 tablespoons

Soy sauce
2 tablespoons

Shaoxing wine / Chinese cooking wine
1 tablespoon

Water
1/2 cup

Sugar
1/2 teaspoon

Ground white pepper
2 dashes

Corn starch slurry

Chopped spring onion to garnish
Directions

Heat up a skillet over medium-high heat and add the sesame oil.

Add ginger to heated oil to cook until slightly crisp around the edges then add garlic to cook until fragrant.

Add the chicken and allow to brown a little before adding the soy sauce, cooking wine, ground white pepper, and water. Stir to combine.

Cover the skillet with a lid and allow to simmer on low heat for 10 minutes or until the meat becomes tender.

Remove lid and allow sauce to reduce a little before thickening it with cornstarch slurry.

Garnish with chopped spring onion and serve.
